Kono Fumiyo

Author of Japanese manga «In This Corner of the World»

Japanese manga artist. She was born in Hiroshima in 1968 and began drawing manga when she was in junior high school. She states that she began drawing manga because her parents would not often buy her manga. She studied science at Hiroshima University and later moved to Tokyo. A multiple-time winner of Japan Media Arts Festival Award and Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.
