The Khanenko Museum preserves and presents the most valuable collection of Asian and the Islamic art in Ukraine. This art edition introduces the most important works and is the result of many years of work by museum researchers.
The publication includes over 150 works representing four sections of the collection: the art of the Islamic world, Central and South Asia, China, and Japan. The full-scale war waged by russia against Ukraine is also aimed at the destruction and looting of cultural heritage.
This is vividly evidenced by the tragic fate of museums and their collections in the occupied territories. Currently, the collection of the Khanenko Museum is hidden and inaccessible to visitors; the museum halls are empty.
Therefore, the publication of this edition is more relevant than ever. For the broadest readership. Edited by Hanna Rudyk.
