Kateryna Mishchuk

Kateryna is a graduate of the graphic design department of Kyiv Mykhailo Boichuk State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design. As an art director, illustrator, designer, and layout maker, she collaborates with many publishing houses, as well as Krylati, a children’s patriotic educational magazine printed by the Ukrainian Youth Association. Kateryna creates illustrations for fiction and children’s books. She has illustrated and designed over four hundred books, among them «Magic Mountain» by Thomas Mann, «The Issa Valley» and «The Land of Ulro» by Czesław Miłosz, «The Plays» and «The Early Dramas» by Maurice Maeterlinck, and many others. She is the author of several poetry collections, including «The Rain in a Jar», «The Sunflower’s Eclipse», and «The Winter Chronicles». Another poetry collection, «A Forerunner of the Rain», is forthcoming. «The Winter Chronicles» were published within the program «The Grants of the President of Ukraine for Young Artists to Create and Implement Creative Projects» (2008). Since 2006, Kateryna has been a member of the National Writers Union of Ukraine. She was awarded the Vasyl Symonenko Literary Prize, the International Oles Honchar Ukrainian-German Literary Award, and the prize of Radosyn literary association.

For Safran publishing house, Kateryna created the cover for «The Celestial Songs. Poetic Translations of Yaroslava Shekera».
